Robert J. Bernhart, a retired teacher for the Massapequa School District and former employee of Jim Smith Chevrolet, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at home. The son of Victor and Elizabeth Jonat Bernhart, he was born on March 6, 1921 in Wallkill, NY.
Robert was a member of the First Reformed Church in Walden, the Walden Humane Society, AARP, and a former instructor for the literacy program at the Wallkill Prison.
Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory; Newburgh, NY.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Robert
