Obituary of Jane Gray Howe

Jane Gray Howe, 90 years old, of Walden, New York, loving mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away with her family at her side on Monday, October 9, 2017. Jane was a strong loving and caring woman whose love for God and family went before all else. She was a member of the Walden Senior Citizens and a long time member and volunteer in the United Methodist Church. Jane was pre-deceased by her devoted husband Luther “Luke” in 2008; her brother Chester Hyatt; sisters, Ida Hadden and presumed deceased Ann Klein. She leaves behind her three children, Ginny Esposito of Pine Bush, Elaine Johnston of Colorado and Steve Howe of Walden. Grandchildren Matt Johnston, Vanessa Esposito Finan, Nick Johnston, Richard Esposito, Evan Nicoletti and James Howe her two great grandchildren, Lucian and Maddox Finan. In addition she leaves behind her beloved kitty “Fritz”. Visitation with be at Gridley Horan Funeral Home in Walden on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a service at the funeral home at 8 PM. Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory. Burial of her ashes will be at a later date in Orange County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in her memory to the charity of one’s choosing.
