Mabel E. Cornell of Maybrook, NY, a former school bus driver for Godeffroy Car Co. and Valley Central School District, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at home. The daughter of Jerry Hazen and Marion E. Botjer Lewis, she was born on March 24, 1932 in New Windsor, NY. She was 81 years old.
Mabel was the widow of the late George S. Cornell, Sr. She was a former 4H leader.
Survivors are two sons: Robert Winchell and his wife, Monica of Montgomery, and George Cornell, Jr. of Maybrook; two daughters: Denise Totman and her husband, Robert of Belton, SC, and Michelle Callahan of Maybrook, a brother, Henry Lewis of Poughkeepsie. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Jessica, Zackary, Bryon, Tommy, Robert, Jennefer, Priscilla, Heather, Monica, Meaghan and Skylar, five great grandchildren: Cadence, Landon, Brayden, A.J., and Skyler, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Services will be held on Friday, October 25 at 10 AM from the funeral home. Burial will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
