Donald C. Milligan of Walden, NY, a retired head farmer at the Wallkill Correctional Facility, Wallkill, NY; died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh. He was 98 years old. The son of James A. and Kitty Crawford Milligan, he was born on June 19, 1915 in Maybrook, NY. Donald was married to the late Frances M. Milligan. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the Walden United Methodist Church, the Wallkill Masonic Lodge # 627 and the Walden Star Chapter of the OES #560. He was also a member of the Walden Senior Citizens and a life member of the Walden and Montgomery Sportsmans Clubs. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Horizon Family Medical, the Valley View Rehabilitation Center and St. Luke’s ICU staff. Donald is survived by his daughter, Dianne Bjork and her husband, Edward of Pine Bush; grandson, Christopher Bjork; granddaughter, Patricia Bjork; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Charles Milligan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 from 2-5 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home 39 Orchard St. Walden. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25th at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden. Masonic Services will be held on Sunday at 4:30 PM Memorial Contributions may be made to the Walden United Methodist Building Fund or the Walden Human Society.
