George E. Marshall of Coldenham, NY, a self employed businessman owning Marshalls Plumbing & Heating in Gardiner, NY, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was also employed by Majestic Weaving and IBM, Fishkill, NY. The son of the late George E. and Anne Duffy Marshall, he was born on April 5, 1932 in White Plains, NY. He was 81 years old.
George was a Korean War veteran serving as a Navy CB. He was past President and Life Member of the Coldenham Fire Dept; Captain of the Coldenham Fire Police, President of the Peace Officers Assoc. of Orange County, and member of the American Legion, Montgomery.
Survivors are his wife, Peggy Bakanovic Marshall at home; four sons, Doug, Chris, George IV, and Wayne; eight daughters, Melissa, Diane, Cindy, Sherri, Kim, Tame, Joy, and Michelle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, George, daughter, Karen and two sisters, Muriel and Mary.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Coldenham Cemetery, Coldenham, NY.
