Brian W. Stratton, Sr. of Walden, NY, owner of Stratton Electrical Supply in Newburgh, NY, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 in Nyack Hospital, Nyack, NY. The son of the late William and Marie Alouise Stratton, he was born on September 22, 1949 in Newburgh, NY. He was 64 years old. He was the husband of the late Susianna Stratton. A hardworking family man who married the love of his life at 18, and had marriage that lasted over 40 years. He worked in the electrical supply industry since the age of 18, starting his career at Kandle Brothers on Broadway in 1967, building a report with many local electricians. He was an avid hunter and was a member of both the Montgomery and Blackrock Sportsman Clubs. He enjoyed socializing over a good cup of coffee. He spent many years as an obedience trainer for the Top Hat Dog Training School in Newburgh, NY. He owned and successfully trained the winners of several dog shows in the local area. Brian is survived by four sons, John Stratton and his wife, Josie of Peoria AZ, Joseph and wife Renee of Lewisville, TX, Brian Jr. and his wife, Julianne of Walden, NY and Vincent and wife Lee of Walden, NY; two daughters, Debra Calie and he husband, Andrew of Maine and Kimberly Fasilis and her husband, Nick of Kingston, NY; one brother, Roger Stratton of Walden, NY; three sisters, Jeanie Allen, Billie Szafranski, and Ellen Dietsch all of Las Vegas, NV; fourteen grandchildren, Patrick, Stephanie, Robert, Brian III, John Jr., Joseph Jr., Christopher, Angelina, Alexis, Austin, Alison, Austin C., Madison, and Cheyenne, several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Susianna, he was predeceased by two sisters, Louis Stratton and Diane Cocks. A memorial visitation will be held on January 11, 2014 from 2-4 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. A memorial service will take place at 4 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Mr. Stratton was three time cancer survivor. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
