Doris Reese, of Walden, NY passed away on February 15, 2014. She was 88 years old. Daughter of the late John and Millicent Snyder Shields, Doris was born on February 8, 1926 in Downsville, NY. She was the widow of the late Robert G. Reese. Doris was a school secretary for many years at Berea Elementary School in the Valley Central School District.
Survivors include her two sons William Reese of Middletown, NY, John Reese and wife Jennifer of Rye, NY.; three daughters, Nancy Carulli of Middletown, Patricia Saunders and husband John of Pleasantville, NY, Diane Moriarty and husband Thomas of Short Hills, NJ.; ten grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Lauren, Jillian, Connor, Leigh, Matthew, Dylan, Jake and Owen; three great grandchildren Kiera, Justin and Fletcher; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert and her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 from 11-1 PM at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM following the visitation at the funeral home
Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Colchester Historical Society in Downsville, NY.
