Charles R. Horne Sr. of Coldenham, NY. passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Vassar Bros. Hospital Poughkeepsie , NY. He was 78 years old. The son of the late William and Jemima Kemp Horne, he was born on August 16, 1935 in Yonkers , NY. He was the widower of Carol A. Rice Horne. His son Charles R. Horne Jr. also predeceased him.
Charles was an avid fisherman and was a longtime member of the Orange Lake Fish and Game Association. He was a truck driver for Abbott and Mills of Newburgh.
Survivors include his son James W. Horne and wife Erika of Cornwall; four daughters Linda Fusco of Summerville,S.C., Patricia Manley of Newburgh, Kathleen Freeman of Wurtsboro, Heather Lee and husband Michael of Wurtsboro; grandchildren, Joshua, Anthony, Dylan, Madison and Mackenzie; great granddaughter Arianna, nieces and nephews.
As well his wife and son, Charles was predeceased by his brother William Horne; sisters Jeanne Raymond and Mildred Dube.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 5, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial followed at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Rte 52 Walden, New York.
