Catherine J. Rongo of Walden, NY entered into eternal rest on April 16, 2014 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of the late Frank and Catheine Grieco Crescenzo, she was born on May 1, 1929 in New York City, NY. She was 84 years old.
She dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed. Her memory will sustain us.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel L. Rongo at home; a son, Salvatore J. Rongo and his wife, Patricia of Marietta, GA; two daughters, Katherine Accumanno and her husband, Joseph of Randolph, NJ and Francine M. Buckley and her companion, Michael Babcock of Pine Bush; five grandchildren, David, Salvatore, James, Jennifer and Anthony, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
