Melvin B. Wilkin, a retired bank manager for Key Bank in Wallkill, NY, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Montgomery Nursing Home, Montgomery, NY. The son of the late Melvin B. and Margaret Stites Wilkin, he was born on May 26, 1933 in Middletown, NY. He was 80 years old.
Mel was a US Army Korean veteran. He was also a trustee of the New Hurly Church and the Modena Methodist Church, a member of the Plattekill Lions Club and various banking organizations. He was an avid fisherman and love care racing.
Survivors are his daughter, Melissa W. Hathaway of Venice, Fl and two grandchildren, Noah and Savannah.
Cremation and services are private. Burial of cremains will be in the Chester Cemetery, Chester, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
