James C. “Bush” Shattuck, a technician for Sears, Newburgh, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital; Newburgh, NY. The son of James C. and Louise M. Rape Shattuck, Sr., he was born on December 3, 1933 in Lowell, MA. He was 80 years old.
Bush was a 20 year Air Force veteran having served in Korea and Viet Nam. He received a Bronze Star. After retiring from the military, he was employed at West Point. He was also a member of the Walden VFW.
Survivors are his son, James Shattuck of OK; step son Richard Conklin of CA; step daughter, Terri Longley of VT; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 3-6 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 10AM at St. Mary’s Church, Montgomery, NY. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd Street; New York, NY 10016.
