Benjamin S. Castellano of Middletown, NY, passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center on Monday, July 7, 2014. The son of the late Bennie and Katherine Hewitt Castellano, he was born on Sept. 3, 1940 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 73 years old. He was the husband of Betty Ann Van Amburgh Castellano. Benjamin was a proud member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 17. Benjamin took great pleasure in watching his sons ride their quads. He was also an avid Nascar fan. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Betty Ann Castellano at home, sons, John M. Castellano of Bloomingburg, NY, Michael B. Castellano of Pine Bush, NY; daughters Susan L. Giannakopoulos and husband Alex of North Carolina, Darlene Morse of North Carolina; brothers Thomas, Arthur and Gerry; sisters, Nancy, Kathy Roseanne and Lolly; grandchildren, Alex, Melinda, Jennifer, Jesse, Kristi; great grandchildren, Sophia and Victoria. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Princess. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 5 – 7 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Funeral services will be held at 7 PM following the visitation. Cremation Cedar Hill Crematory Contributions may be made in Benjamin’s memory to the Walden Humane Society, 2489 Albany Post Road, Walden, NY 12586 (845)-778-5115.
