Frederick W. Decker of Walden, a retired head custodian for the Valley Central School District, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2014 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The son of Frederick and Lucy Hadden Decker, he was born on December 20, 1930 in Pine Bush, NY. He was 83 years old.
Fred was the widower of Marilyn Doolittle Decker. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was also the past president of the Walden American Legion Post #158.
Survivors are his son, Donald S. Decker of Walden and daughter, Diane C. Borman and her husband, Roger of Walden; grandchildren, Christopher, Gregory, Andrew, Ryne, Katlyn and Skylar; great grandchildren, Christopher, Abigail, Kenney, Silas and Mason; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Clarence Decker.
Services will be private. Cremation is in the Cedar Hill Crematory; Newburgh, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
