Joseph A. Wisniewski of Middletown, NY, a nurses aide at Valley View Nursing Home, Goshen, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. The son of the late John and Doris Scudder Wheeler, he was born on April 18, 1948 in Middletown, NY. He was 66 years old. Joseph was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War.
Survivors are his wife, Karen Wisniewski at home; sons, Carles Cothren of Middletown and Robert Cothren and his fiancée Jodi of Hurleyville; daughters, Karen Jean Cothren-McLean and her husband Jermaine of Middletown and Bernice Cothren of Staten Island; brothers, William Wheeler of Walden, John Wheeler of Colorado, Frank Wisniewski of Highland Falls, Leo Wisniewski of Albany, Leonard Wisniewski of Georgia and John Wisniewski of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Cothren and brother, Martin Wisniewski.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 1 from 6-8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 2 at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden. Burial will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
