Joseph F. Burke JR of Otisville, NY passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital, Wayne, NJ. The son of the late Joseph F. Sr. and Dorothy King Burke, he was born on July 7, 1949 in the Bronx. He was 68 years old. He was married to Ellen Lanaro. Joe was a retired Iron worker with the Local 580. Joe was a passionate father who loved his five kids and 13 grand kids. Joe was a huge Yankee fan and a reluctant Jet fan. His real passion was music. Joe grew up on Long Island, but his heart will always be in Key West Florida. Survivors are: wife, Ellen Lanaro; sons, Joseph III (Jen), Thomas (Susannah), Patrick (Janet), Sean; daughter, Colleen (Shawn); brothers, Richard (Elaine), George, Gerald (Nariss); sister, Donnalyn (Joe); 13 grandchildren; Sister in law, Anne Krapf (Glenn); Brother in law, Peter Lanaro (Jean); Mother in law, Helen Lanaro; many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends he considered family. A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. A memorial celebration is being planned on Nov. 18th, time and location TBD. Anyone who would like to attend the celebration should RSVP Jen Burke. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your preferred humane society or veterans group in Joe’s memory.
