William T. Johnson of Walden, NY passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Montgomery Nursing Home. The son of the late William S. and Myrtle B. Tappen Johnson, he was born on November 17, 1927 in Newburgh, NY. He was a corporate secretary and accountant for Spence Engineering, Walden, NY. Bill was a WWII Navy veteran. He was also a member of the Orange Lake Fish & Game Assoc., the Shawangunk Reformed Church, DAV & National Human Rights Committee of POW-MIA’s and the American Legion. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude “Trudy” Sievert McCord Johnson at home; daughters, Linda Draughn and her husband, Darrell of Middletown; Penny Bellarosa and her husband, John of Walden; Rebecca McCord and her companion Jamie Rinehimer of Wapallopen, PA; Julie Santiamagro and her husband, Sal of Walden; and Cindy Cavallucci and her husband, Thomas of Walden; nine grandchildren, Steven, Rachel, Michael, Kelly, Christopher, Kimberly, Corey, Nicholas and Katie; thirteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Lucas Johnson and his sisters, Myrtle Ryder and Dorothy Colvin. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30th at the Shawangunk Reformed Church, Wallkill, NY. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawangunk Reformed Church.
