Obituary of Isabel DeLessio

Isabel “Betty” DeLessio, of resident of Montgomey, NY, passed away on October 30, 2014. She was 78 years old. Daughter of Robert Broad and Eleanor(Hayes)Broad, Betty was the loving wife to Philip P. DeLessio and cherished mom of Philip DeLessio Jr. and wife, Susan of Marietta, GA, Patricia DeMarco of Blackshear, GA, JoAnn DeLessio, Mark DeLessio of Hoboken, NJ and Christopher DeLessio of Montgomery,NY; adored grandmother of Daniele and Dana; sister or Oran Broad of Pine Bush, NY and Donald Broad of Middletown, NY. She was predeceased by daughter, JoAnn Marie DeLessio and son-in-law, Philip J. DeMarco. Betty was a graduate of Pine Bush High School and attended Orange County Community College. She was a supportive wife and hard working mother of five. Later she retired as a communications employee for the Orange County Government Center. Spending time with family and friends, near and far, especially during holidays was Betty’s favorite pass time. You could always count on her to “do lunch”. She enjoyed a lifelong hobby of playing cards, especially at the Mulberry House of Middletown, NY. She was a devoted Mets fan and spent many hours watching them with her late daughter, JoAnn. She loved traveling to Georgia countless times to be with her granddaughters and even traveled as far as England to visit with her son Mark. In recent years she enjoyed being at home watching her shows, hearing about our day, Sunday drives by the horse farm to visit “Wicky” and caring for Stanley and Stella. She was a dear wife, great Mom, adoring GranMa, and friend. A visitation will be held on Monday, November, 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home,39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4th at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
