John M. Bergen of Walden, NY passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. A master mechanic for the NYS Thruway Authority in Nyack, John was born on April 16, 1936 in New York City, NY. He was 78 years old. He was a member of the Wawarsing Rod & Gun Club and an avid target shooter.
Survivors are his longtime companion, Barbara LeRoy of Walden; his sons, Douglas and Dennis Bergen and his two grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th from 2-4 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
