Janet G. Upchurch, a homemaker of Walden, NY, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Elant at Newburgh. The daughter of Leo and Katherine Crouch Goldsworthy, she was born on January 2, 1925 in Clifton Springs, NY. She was 89 years old.
Janet is survived by her husband, Valere “Bill” Upchurch at home; sons, Jeffrey Upchurch and his wife, Kathy of Stratham, NH, and Jay Upchurch and his wife, Jill of Montgomery; daughters, Wendy Upchurch and her husband Arturo Aviles of Venice, FL, Valerie Cartwright and her husband, Jonathan of Walden, and Tracy Upchurch Kohler of Walden; brother, John Goldsworthy of The Villages, FL; sister, Jane Rutkus of Needham, MA; eight grandchildren, Jason, Jayme, Joshua, Jonathan, Michael, Samantha, Lars and Cassandra; great grandson, Jack; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, John L. Upchurch.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 2-5 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17th at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John L. Upchurch Memorial Fund at the Valley Central High School, Montgomery.
