Vera Ellen Jefferson of Walden, NY passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of the late Robert and Vilma Yerks Avilio, she was born on August 24, 1950 in Goshen, NY. She was 68 years old. She was the widow of the late Richard Jefferson, Sr. and a former switchboard operator at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Survivors are her son, Richard Jefferson, Jr.; sisters: Carol McNeely of Walden and Maureen Rogerson of Lakeland, FL, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice
