Bertha A. Green of Montgomery, NY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. The daughter of the late Stewart and Beatrice Bowering Samson, she was born on October 28, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. She was 78 years old. She was employed as a church secretary at the Leptondale Bible Church. She was the widow of the late Floyd Green.
Bertha is survived by her son, Floyd S. Green and his wife, Janet of Forked River, NJ; daughters: Sharon Stevens of Montgomery; Karrin Weeden and her husband, Howard of Walden; and Kristan Burlingame of Cuthogue, NY; foster child, Cynthia McAnulty of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Samson and sister, Ann Samson.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Valley View Nursing Home for their loving care.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 10am – 12 noon at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
