Kenneth W. Kruehne, 68, of Walden, NY left his earthly home to begin service with Heaven’s Fire Brigade on January 14, 2015. He was an Administrative Manager with International Business Machines last working in the corporate legal offices at White Plains. But the great vocation of his life was serving with the Walden Fire Department where he was a fifty year member of the Orange Hose Company and past chief of the Department. He served the Department in a variety of roles from firefighter to administrator and was a past Fire Commissioner for the Village of Walden. Ken was predeceased by his mother, Wilma Benvenuta, his grandparents William and Sophie Kruehne, his aunts and uncles, Ken and Jean Nusspickel and Karl and Erna Weissert and his special “niece”, Kristen Paradiso Ricci. He is survived by his cousin, Terry Nusspickel Paradiso, her husband Nick and their family. Ken was never married and had no children of his own but instead became the special uncle to Terry’s children, Kristen(Chris), Nick III(Cindy), his Godson Dan(Heather) and great uncle to Josh, Taylor, Dana, Daniel, Samantha and Max Paradiso and Zach Ricci. In addition to his family, Ken is survived by lifelong friend Ric Cagney and his buddy, Pete Decker. Visitation for Ken will be held in his beloved Walden Fire House Social Hall 230 Old Orange Avenue from 4 until 6:30 pm on Monday, January 19, 2015. Services will be at 6:30 pm In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to the Walden Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
