Hesperia Rabetsky of Wallkill, NY passed away at home on Thursday, September 20, 2018. The daughter of the late Domenick and Maria Vassura Spadoni, she was born on April 19, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. She was 95 years old. She was a self-employed seamstress and the widow of the late Michael Rabetsky.
Hesperia is survived by her daughters: Rhonda Rabetsky of Wallkill and Denise Varney and her husband, William of North Carolina; grandchildren: Tanya and Jason Shinn, Jason Varney, Amanda and Colt Morton, Jeff and Meranda Palmer and Tim O’Brien; great grandchildren: Tekoa, Malakhi, Carly, Sydney, Christian, and Ethan and sister, Margie Vanek of Florida. She was predeceased by her sisters, Harriette Barbuto and Muriel Buchalter and son-in-law, Arthur Palmer.
A visitation will be held from 2-3 PM on Saturday, September 29th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 3 PM following the visitation. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory. Interment of ashes will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
