Obituary of Wayne P. VanDuyne

Wayne P. VanDuyne of Walden, passed away on February 15, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 74 years old. He was born on October 17, 1940 to Charles and Hazel Hulmes VanDuyne in Dover, NJ. He was married to Sue A. Tuttle VanDuyne. Wayne was a mechanice for Drakes Bakery in Wayne NJ for several years. He was very active in the Modena Fire Department, Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Of Modena. As a member of the Plattekill Rod and Gun Club he loved fishing. He was also very fond of animals, movies, collecting things and making things with his bare hands. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Sue A. VanDuyne at home; Son, Charles VanDuyne and wife Denise of The Finger Lakes; daughters, Peggy Brewer and husband Russell of The Finger Lakes, Suzanne Kelly of Miami, FL, Lori DiLemme and husband John of Wallkill, NY; fourteen grandchildren, Shayne, Vashti, Wayne, Renae, Kayleigh, Patrick, Paige, Colin, Hannah, Russell Jr., Jeremy, Noah, Justin, Nathaniel; two great grandchildren, Owen and Addilyne; several nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his sister Joan and three brothers George, Charles and Fred. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, from 4-7 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY 12586. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 18th at 11 AM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. , Walden, NY 12586. Burial will follow services at the Modena Rural Cemetery.
