Obituary of Pierina Porretta

Pierina Porretta passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015. She was born on February 13, 1977 to Romano and Carmela Sementilli Porretta. She was 38 years old. Pierina Porretta had the courage to be herself, and she was beautiful. With her smile, she brought the sun into every room she stepped into. With her strength, she showed us how to live. She will forever be remembered, admired, and loved by her family, friends, and the many friends who became family. She will always be alive in all our hearts. She was a survivor, and is survived by her fiance Charles Dolson of Walden; parents Romano and Carmela Porretta of Walden; brother, Armando Porretta of Walden; sisters Eliana Brown and husband Bernard of Walden; Katia Porretta of Wallkill; grandmother Vincenza Valeri Sementilli; uncles, Valdemar Porretta and wife Luisa of Bronx,NY, Angelo Sementilli and wife Mariana of Brazil; aunt Olga Sementilli-Cortina and husband Elio of Brazil; nieces Kianna, Cynthia, Danyelle, Macee, Hope, Connie; nephew, Corey; parents in law, Howard and Cynthia Dolson of Walden; brothers-in-law, Keith Davis and wife Martha of Missouri, Howie Dolson Jr. of Walden; sisters-in-law, Liz Nunez and husband Carlos of Walden, Connie Branch and husband Michael of Oklahoma; cousins and loving friends. She will be greatly missed. Pierina was predeceased by her grandparents and her brother Pietro Porretta. Visitation will be held on Friday March 6, 2015 from 2 -4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 10 AM at Most Precious Blood Church 42 Walnut St. Walden, Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum Newburgh, NY.
