Jay L. Alexander Sr. of Montgomery, NY passed away December 4, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh. Jay was born March 12, 1948 in Newburgh, NY. He was married to the late Barbara Alexander. He was 69 years old.
Jay worked as a mechanic and in sales for Popp’s Cycle Center in Walden, NY. He was the Vice President of the Red Steel Motorcycle Club and Life Member of the Fearless Hook & Ladder Co., Walden Fire Department. Jay was a member of the Fireman’s Association of the State of New York, Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association, and Orange County Volunteer Fireman’s Association. Additionally, he was a social member of the Walden VFW.
Survivors include son, Jay L. Alexander Jr. of Montgomery; grandsons, Jay and Dennis, as well as nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at the Walden Baptist Church, 38 Bank St., Walden, from 10-11AM on Saturday, December 9th. A Memorial Service will follow at 11AM at the church. Cremation was held in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Walden VFW, 4-8 Oak St. Walden, NY 12586.
