Thomas W. DeGroodt of Montgomery, NY, passed away at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY on April 23 , 2015. The son of Sandra A. and Myron J. DeGroodt, he was born on December 22, 1939 in Walden, NY. He was 75 years old. Tom was an employee of Hudson Wire, Walden, NY, and loved to tinker.
Survivors are his wife, Sandra A. Henderson DeGroodt at home; son, Edward T. DeGroodt and his wife, Pearl of Walden; daughter, Susan L Lockwood of Montgomery; brothers, Leroy DeGroodt and Ed DeGroodt both of Walden, Joe Degroodt of Wallkill; sisters, Katherine Wood and Helen Schoonmaker both of Walden; grandchildren, Linda, Kimmy, Amber, and Thomas; great grandson, Jonathan and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services and burial of ashes will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 1st at the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
