William VanDerPloeg, a retired truck driver, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at home. The son of the late Harry and Kathryn Hall VanDerPloeg, he was born on February 26, 1932 in Fairlawn, NJ. He was 83 years old. He was a life member of the Pine Bush Fire Dept.
Survivors are his son, William VanDerPloeg and his wife, Valerie of Port Jervis and daughter, Cathy Haas and her husband, Skip of Walden; grandchildren: Nicole, William, Samantha, Katie, Ashley and Kristene Haas.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 14th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Bush Fire Dept. or the Pine Bush Methodist Church.
