Anthony J. Borkowski, Sr. of Coldenham, an automotive technician for Jim Smith Chevrolet, Walden, NY passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Northern Manor Multicare Center, Nanuet, NY. The son of the late Anthony John and Josephine Balinski Borkowski, he was born on February 6, 1938 in Manhattan, NY. He was 77 years old. Anthony is survived by his wife, Elaine Melville Borkowski at home; son, Anthony J. Borkowski, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Montgomery; sisters: Loretta Borkowski and Barbara Borkowski of Maspeth, Queens, NY; grandchildren, Alexander and Katie Ann; niece, Donna Joyce; great nieces: Jessica Joyce , Dr. Christine Joyce and her husband Dr. Andrew Winer, and Elizabeth Joyce; great nephew, Brian Joyce and his wife, Marissa; brother-in-law, Kenneth Melville and his wife, Jane. He was predeceased by his son Stephen. The family would like to thank Dr.Edgard Quinones and the staff at ORMC , Good Samaritan Hospital, and Northern Manor Multicare Center. A visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29th from 4-7PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden on Thursday, July 30th. Burial will be St Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000- Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101
