Bertha Holbert of Pine Bush, NY passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of the late Laurence and Edna Purcell Stellar, she was born on October 20, 1926 in Walden, NY. She was the widow of the late Rennie O. Holbert.
Bertha was a food service employee for the Wallkill School District, Wallkill, NY. She was also a member of the Walden Methodist Church.
Survivors are her sisters-in-law, Joan Holbert and Mary Wilson; brother-in-law, James Holbert; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. The funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home immediately following the visitation.
Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or the charity of one’s choice.
