Obituary of Susan Dratch
March 8th 1962- September 12th, 2015
It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that I inform friends and family of the sudden departure of Susan Quigley Dratch. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Eric and three wonderful children who she adored, Samuel, Alexandra and Victoria. Susan is also survived by her loving mother and father, Helen and Thomas Quigley; sisters, Patty Quigley Conklin, Ellen O’Connell (deceased) with husband Marty, Sally Quigley; brother, Thomas Jr with Wife Robbin all residing in Rockland county, NY; sister in law Diane Dratch of New Mexico . Susan also has several nieces and nephews who were also an integral part of her life.
Born in the Bronx on March 8th 1962 and raised in West Nyack NY, Susan attended Clarkstown South HS and later graduated from SUNY Oneonta with her BA majoring in Spanish.
Susan was a vibrant women who loved to interact with people and was always willing to put others needs in front of her own. Employed in the publishing industry her entire life, Susan worked for Hartcourt Brace Javonovich and then Pearson where she was a very successful college textbook editor.
Privately Susan loved the outdoors, nature, animals and numerous community activities.
Always eager to explore and discover new places to share with her loving family and friends, Susan often planned and executed exotic and unusual trips at an instant notice, often surprising her family only days before an adventure was to begin. Susan was also very active with her children, especially with sports. The continuous organizer, Susan could often be found transporting her children and their friends to the numerous activities they were involved in throughout the surrounding counties. The word No was not in her vocabulary.
Susan was indeed a truly exceptional woman. Her wonderful smile and brilliant blue eyes will be missed by all who had the privilege of her company and the world will be a much lonelier place in her absence.
Susan Loved Jesus with all of her heart and soul and her numerous friends are a direct reflection of the love she had for them and they for her.
