Samuel L. Rongo of Walden, NY, a warehouse foreman for GE in Greenburg, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The son of the late Sabato and Domenica Rongo, he was born on May 24, 1927 in New York City, NY. He was 88 years old. He was the widower of the late Catherine J. Rongo. Samuel was an Army veteran.
Survivors are his son, Salvatore J. Rongo and his wife, Patricia of Marietta, GA; daughters: Katherine Accumanno and her husband, Joseph of Randolph, NJ and Francine M. Buckley and her companion Michael Babcock of Pine Bush; grandchildren, David, Salvatore, James, Jennifer and Anthony, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Dominick.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th from 2-4 and 7-9m PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 7th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the O.C. Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
