Obituary of Janet Ruth Weed

Janet Ruth Weed, a homemaker, of New Windsor, NY passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at home. The daughter of the late Howard and Mary Hoyt Schmidt, she was born on July 7, 1943 in Walden, NY. She was 72 years old. She was the widow of the late Howard J. Weed, Sr. Janet was a member of the Red Hatters and the Senior Center in the Village of Montgomery. Survivors are her sons: Howard Weed and his wife Carole of Gardiner, Harvey Weed and his wife, Vicki and Heath Weed and his wife, Beverly of Deltona, FL; daughters: Dawn M. Masi of Saugerties and Mary Weed-Fratto of Maybrook; brother, Howard Schmidt of Pine Bush; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Sr., parents, Howard and Mary, grandson, Howard III, granddaughter, Shandi and sister Beatrice Purdy. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21st from 6-8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the burn unit at St. Luke’s Hospital
