Frederick P. Brice passed away on December 30, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh. He was 92 yrs. old. He was husband to the late Ruth Glaum Brice. Fred was born to the late Eugene and Doris Gorman Brice on December 2, 1923 in Portland, Maine. Fred served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Fred was a longtime member of the Walden Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He provided building maintenance services for the Village of Walden for many years. Fred enjoyed spending his summers camping. In his earlier years Fred enjoyed being involved in the Walden Little League. Fred is survived by; sons, Frank Appell of Walden, Glenn Appell (Nelda) of Wichita, Kansas, Richard Appell of Middletown, Robert Brice (Gayla) of Enid, Oklahoma, Frederick Brice Jr. of North Bangor; daughters, RuthAnn Carmody (Jim) of Walden, Tammie Brice of Highland; brother, Harry Ruger of New Windsor; sister, Dorothy Goldsmith of Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Fred is predeceased by his wife Ruth; his parents; son, James Brice; sister, Esther Ruger. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6 from 11-1 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Burial will follow at the Bruynswick Rural Cemetery, Wallkill, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or the Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps.
