Obituary of Anna Steinhauer DeLucca

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna was the daughter of Philip and Anna Gress and was born on February 20, 1942. She lived in Long Island, NY and later moved to Highland Mills, NY where she raised her children and worked in the Chester School district. She found great joy in the 30 plus years of service she gave to Girl Scouts of America. In 1991, she moved to Walden, NY and eventually retired from her duties from the Chester Elementary School after 25 years of service. Anna’s favorite past time was rooting for Tony Stewart in the Nascar races. She loved hummingbirds, gardening, her family and Sunday dinners at her home. Her grandson Jamie was the apple of her eye, as he spent many weekends with her and helping her around her home. Anna is survived by her children; Elizabeth and Mike Shoemaker, Gary and Anna Steinhauer, Gregory Steinhauer, Kevin and Caroline Steinhauer, Theresa and David Luczyski, Anthony and Mae DeLucca, son in law William Springs and grandchildren; Anita, Hope, Sarah, Jamie, Kira, Tasha, Kevin, Erica, Tyler, Peter and Angelo and 11 great grandchildren. Anna was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Philip Gress. Anna struggled with a short illness and left us way too soon. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY 12586. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Anna’s name to: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor Norwalk, CT 06851
