Donna M. Losee, passed away on Monday January 17, 2016, she was 44 years old. The daughter of the late Donald “Whitey” Mathews and Carol Mathews Panaro, she was born on October 30th, 1971, in Cornwall, NY Donna grew up on Tower Ave. in Maybrook and was a 1989 graduate of Valley Central High School, and was listed in Who’s Who among High School Students. Donna went on to attend Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh and then started working for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield in Middletown. During this time Donna was active in Boy Scouts with her two sons with Pack & Troop 236. With scouts she became the Program and Camp Directors at Camp Nooteeming, becoming affectionately known as “Noot Mommie” It was here over all the long sleepless weeks that she met her “Cheffy” husband of 10 years Jeremy. More recently she was employed as a Senior Project Manager at Emblem Health, and had earned her Six Sigma Green Belt from Villanova University and was a certified Project Manager with the Project Management Institute. These past few years Donna has enjoyed being a stay at home grandma helping to raise two of her grandchildren Lily and Liam. She also was a novice Kayaker and always looked for an opportunity to get back in to the calm water. Along with her mother, Carol Panaro of Montgomery, Donna is survived by her loving husband, Jeremy Losee at home; son, Jon M. Toohey of Montgomery; son Jeremy B. Toohey and his wife Elizabeth of Walden; grandchildren, Lily, Liam, and Bella. She is also survived by her sister Tammie Turner and her husband, Frank and their children; Tamara, Savannah, Kori, Jordan and MiKayla. Donna was predeceased by her maternal grandparents; William and Carmella Tirella and her Aunt Joy Amodio. Over the last three years of her battle, we have been touched by the great care that Donna has received by many people including her Primary Oncologist Dr. Jeffery Stewart, MD, who goes above and beyond for all of his patients and is always available. Also all of the nurses from the second floor oncology unit at Orange Regional Medical Center. She had never received better care than from everyone on Two North, Thank you all for everything. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning January 23 from 10 – 12 pm at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. A brief service will be held after the visitation at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s name to the National Leio MyoSarcoma Foundation –NLMSF 2843 E. Grand River Avenue-#230 East Lansing, MI 48823
