Obituary of Marjorie Ruth Pimm

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marjorie Ruth Pimm of Orange Lake, formerly from Walden passed away at home on January 29, 2016 with her family by her side. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marjorie was born on August 19, 1922 in Walden. She was born to the late Arthur and Ruth D. Conklin Bramhall. Marjorie retired in 1984 from Highland Telephone Company in Monroe where she was employed as an executive secretary. She was a Life Member of the Walden Fearless Hook and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary and their parade captain in the 50s. She began dancing at an early age and later became an instructor and choreographer. She not only danced in several shows and reviews, she taught ballroom dancing at NYMA. She never lost her love of dance and took to the floor at every chance. Marge enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Whether it was a trip to Disney or Sea World or camping in the Adirondacks, she was there. She was a proud audience member for every band and chorus concert, awards assembly or school play for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she enjoyed Sunday family picnics at her home on Orange Lake. She loved decorating her home and yard. All you had to do was look you knew the season or holiday. If you ever spotted a red convertible cruising the streets with two gray haired ladies inside, it was most likely her and her mother. She is survived by son, Edward Pimm and his wife Catherine of Walden; two granddaughters: Julie Cavanaugh and her husband Jason of Walden and Kelly Napoleon and her husband Brent of Montgomery; five great grandchildren: Maggie, Bridget, and Daniel Cavanaugh, Jenna and Anthony Napoleon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Arthur Bramhall of Walden and her mother and step-father Ruth and John Kramer of Orange Lake. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31st from 3 to 7 pm at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 1st at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with the Reverend James VanHouten officiating. Burial will follow in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Rte 52 Walden, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Baldrick’s Foundation or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
