Edward Everett Heffernan of Montgomery passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center. The son of the late
Francis Edward and Ruth Esty Heffernan, he was born on January 12, 1931 in South Portland, Maine. He was 85 years old. He was married to Diane Capano-Heffernan.
Edward was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight for many years. He was also a member of the Orange County Sheriffs Association.
Survivors include; his wife Diane at home; son, Michael Heffernan; foster son, Michael Heffernan; step-children, Colleen Fabian, Stephen Fabian Jr., Diane Fabian Smith; brother, Henry Heffernan. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers and sisters.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11-1 PM on Thursday, March 24th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Pastor Rick Bruschi will officiate. Burial of ashes will be private in Orange County Veterans Cemetery.
