Beatrice J. Barrett of Wallkill, NY passed away on December 13, 2017 at home. The daughter of the late Alexandre and Rose Ann Belangier Charron, she was born March 9, 1916 in Gatineau Point, Quebec, Canada. She was 101 years old. Beatrice was the widow of the late Edmond Barrett.
Beatrice worked as a saleslady for JJ Newberry’s in Tupper Lake, NY. She was an artist and loved arts, crafts, sewing and knitting. Additionally, she enjoyed making delicious, homemade donuts.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy J. Barnhart and her husband David of Wallkill, NY; grandchildren, Charles McClure and his wife Kathy, Mark Barnhart and his wife Gloria, Kimberly Sullivan and her husband Tim; step-grandchildren, David Barnhart and his wife Dina, Davina Keeno and her husband Larry, Sylvia Morizzo and her husband Nick, Lisa Cherepanov and her husband Andrew; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY, on Sunday, December 17th from 2-4PM. Graveside services will be held at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wallkill River School of Art, 232 Ward St, Montgomery, NY 12549.
