Donald E. Schutz of Pine Bush, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Residence after a long, courageous battle with prostate cancer. The son of the late William and Margaret Baier Schutz, he was born on December 12, 1944 in Yonkers, NY. He was 71 years old. He was a supervising Probation Officer for the Westchester County Department of Probation in White Plains, NY. He was a US Army veteran.
Donald is survived by his wife, Paula M. Ulmer Schutz at home; son, Alexander P. Schutz of Pine Bush; daughter, Morgan E. Hendricks and her husband, Steven of Goshen; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and David Schutz.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 4th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Memorial services will be held at 8 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the family to support their 2016 Avon 39 Mile Walk to end breast cancer fund raising, the Middletown Humane Society or the charity of one’s choice.
