Robert E. Brewer of Walden passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. The son of the late William and Jeanette Johnson Brewer, he was born on February 10, 1947 in Danbury, CT. He was 69 years old. He was an employee of Ampac in Walden. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley Bowman Brewer at home; step mother, Lois Brewer of Middletown; sons: Joseph Stafford and his fiancée Jenn Mulvey of Scotchtown, and Stephen Smith and his fiancée Sheena Simond of Ellenville; daughters: Angela Coleman and Belinda “Beana” Walker both of Virginia; Shonda Evans of Montgomery; Amanda Brewer of Amsterdam; Ashley Brewer and her fiancé, Brian Mahan of Walden; brother: William Brewer, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Walden; sisters: Janice Ellis and her husband, Bert Combos of Nevada; and Jeanette Jachens of Walden; step sisters: Nancy Davis of Middletown and Kathy Borland of New Windsor; step brother: Robert Goldsmith of Middletown; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.. He was predeceased by his step father, Robert “Goldie” Goldsmith. A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 26th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will begin at 8 PM following the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at their discretion.
