John P. Ix of Montgomery, NY passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Highland Nursing Home, Middletown, NY. The son of the late John P. and Mary Josephine Meyer Ix, he was born on February 9, 1925. He was 93 years old. He was the widower of the late Trudette “Trudy” Ix. John was a NYC Police Detective retiring after 43 years of service. He was also a WWII Navy Veteran.
Survivors ae his daughter, Andrea Ix of Montgomery; grandchildren: Kerry Ix-Horan, Andrea Ix-D’Amato, Noelle Ix-D’Amato, John Ix-D’Amato, and Michael Plate; great grandchildren: John Ix-Burris and Thomas Ix-Burris. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by his daughters, Jacqueline and Kerry, son, Thomas, granddaughter, Danielle and brother, Teddy.;
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 24th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be at 8 PM on Wednesday evening following the visitation. Burial will be in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
