George M. Rissmeyer, Sr. of Walden passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Elant at Meadow Hill. The son of Ernest A. and Catherine Cahill Rissmeyer, he was born on March 4, 1939 in Cedar Hurst, NY. He was 77 years old. George was a truck driver for the NYS DOT in Maybrook, NY. He was also a member of the American Legion in Walden and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a US Army Veteran.
Survivors are his wife, Arlene Armstead Rissmeyer at home; son, George Rissmeyer, Jr. his wife, Jayne of Walden; daughters: Yvonne Sternemann and her husband, Doug of Montgomery and Renee Schuyler and her husband, Jay of VA; brother, Ernest Rissmeyer and his wife, Joan of FL; sister Margaret Tilson and her husband, William of Modena; grandchildren: Cheri, Dougie, Kevin, Katlin, Cassey and JJ; 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Rissmeyer.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 27th at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., The Diabetes Assoc. or Autism Research.
