Edward M. Osusk of Newburgh, NY passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center on Monday, July 4, 2016. The son of the late Stephen and Mary Osusky, he was born on May 12, 1929 in Newburgh, NY. He was 87 years old. He was the widower of the late Amy Osusky. At the age of 16, Edward went to work at Gus’s Tavern in New Windsor where he was trained to be a chef by his Aunt Anna. He continued to work at Gus’s for over 50 years, until he retired at the age of 68. He also served in the US Army. Survivors are his son, Patrick O’Connell and his wife, Carol of Cortland, NY; daughters: Linda Lancaster of Hawley, PA; Pam Scully and her husband, Steven of Newburgh and Mary Osusky-Furman and her husband, Max of Crescent City, FL; sister, Harriett Osusky of Albany; cousin, Victor Bosacky and his wife, Alice of Montgomery and the Ostner Family of New Windsor; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jeremy and granddaughter, Chrissy. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th from 11-1 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1PM following the visitation. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
