Robert E. Doherty of Monroe, NY passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at home. The son of the late James and Elizabeth Corcoran Doherty, he was born on January 24, 1942 in Bronx, NY. He was 74 years old. He was a retired butcher for Shop-Rite in Tallman, NY. Robert was the widower of the late Nancy A. Doherty.
Survivors are his sons: Robert L Doherty and his wife, Deanna of Pine Bush and Jody R. Doherty of Walden; sister, Theresa Maher of Somerset, NY; grandchildren: Rebecca, Ryan, Joshua, Jill and Kimberly, and great granddaughter, Olivia, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James Doherty.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 26th at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc.
