Obituary of Joseph C. Bruno

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Formerly of Fleetwood Dr. in the Town of Newburgh, Air Force Veteran Joseph Bruno, commonly known as “Pepi” or “Pep” by friends, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning in his home in Cortlandt Manor with his family by his side. Pepi will forever be remembered by his vivid personality and passion for shooting sports. He was like an onion – you needed to spend time peeling away layers of colorful persona before you could truly define him and witness the true size of his heart. Those close to him knew he was at his best when he was hunting or teaching others firearms safety and bullet reloading, most recently as a member and elected committee chairman of the Bethlehem Rod & Gun Club in Plattekill, NY. Joseph is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 36 years, Mary T. Bruno, son Anthony J. Bruno, daughter-in-law Adriana J. Bruno and his “favorite little rodent”, granddaughter Angelina C. Bruno. A visitation will be held from 6-9PM on Friday, December 21st at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10AM on Saturday, December 22nd at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 433 S. Plank Rd, Newburgh, NY 12550. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.
