Lajos “Louis” Toth of Walden passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The son of the late Lajos and Elizabeth Nagy Toth, Sr., he was born on May 16, 1937 in Abaujszanto, Hungary. He was 79 years old. He was a self employed tool and dye maker and owner of LT Carbide MFG., Co. in Walden, NY. He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era.
Louis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Tinger Toth at home; sons: Steven Toth of Walden, Louis Toth of Mayland, Joseph of New Mexico, Robert of Long Island and Thomas of Walden; daughters: Susan Toth of Connecticut and Katrine Toth of Germany; grandchildren: Maggie, Jimmy, Zachy, Thomas, Melonie and Becky; sister, Mary Kolozs of Hungary; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Laszlo, Irme and Miklos and sister, Eva.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, October 20th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, October 21st at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
