Obituary of Daniel E. Kurtz

Daniel E. Kurtz of Montgomery, NY, a retired IBM employee, passed away on November 17, 2016 at home. Daniel was the son of the late Hobart and Irene Clarke Kurtz. He was born on June 15, 1926 in Highland, NY. He was 90 years old. Daniel served his country in the United States Army during WWII. After retirement from IBM Daniel worked for the Valley Central Federal Credit Union. Survivors are his loving wife of 44 yrs., Betty A. Lunt Kurtz at home; sons, Eugene Kurtz (Janice) of Ohio, Daniel Kurtz II (Debbie) of Highland, NY., Gary Kurtz (Diane) of Newburgh, NY., James Carmody (Ruthann) of Walden, NY., Thomas Carmody (Patricia) of Mass.; daughters, Irene DiMarco (Antonio) of Newburgh, Deborah Foster of Olivebridge, NY, Rebecca Hill (Ed) of Florida, Helena Iacuniano (Jim) of Montgomery, Linda Dolson (Ken) of Walden; brothers, Hobart Kurtz (Ruth) of Florida, Clark Kurtz (Johanna) of Highland, Richard Kurtz (Maureen) of Florida; sister-in-law, Barbara Kurtz of Virginia; several grand and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his brother William Kurtz and son-in-law Steven Foster. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday November 20, 2016 at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden NY 12586. Services will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home. A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday November 21, 2016 at Holy Name of Mary Assumption, Montgomery, NY Cremation Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Name of Mary Assumption Church, Montgomery, NY
