Nell M. Hoyle (née Sadler) November 26, 1944 – January 4, 2025 Nell M. Hoyle (née Sadler), beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 26, 1944, in Leonard, Texas, she was one of nine siblings in a close-knit family. In 1960, Nell met the love of her life, Ken Hoyle, in Mineral Wells, Texas, where he was stationed at Fort Wolters. They fell deeply in love and were married on February 11, 1961, beginning a remarkable partnership that lasted nearly 47 years until Ken’s passing in September 2007. Together, they built a family and created countless cherished memories. In 1969, Nell began her career at Walden Telephone Company as a customer service representative, where she demonstrated her warmth and dedication to helping others. She later became a computer operator at Highland Telephone Company in Monroe, NY, where she worked until her retirement in 1997. Her professionalism and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends. She faced and overcame extraordinary challenges, including receiving a life-saving liver transplant 24 years ago—a gift that gave her decades of additional time with her loved ones. In her honor, the family encourages everyone to consider registering as organ donors to offer the same life-changing gift to others. Nell is survived by her son, Stephen Hoyle and his wife, Rose (Iannucci) Hoyle; her daughter, Deborah Kidd; her grandchildren, Zachary Kidd, Jeniece Weatherhead and her husband, Nick, and Kimberley McLellan and her husband, Billy; and her great-grandson, Charlie Weatherhead, son of Jeniece and Nick. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Jo Brunson of Weatherford, TX; her brother, James Sadler of Dallas, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Una Sadler, and siblings Jerry Sadler, Billy Sadler, Melva Sass, Margaret Lopez, Sally Kind, and Wilma Louise Monk. A lifelong animal lover, Nell had a special affection for her many pet cats over the years, often caring for her neighbors’ cats as well. Her compassion extended beyond her family, and she will be remembered for her kind heart, strength, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. A memorial service to honor Nell’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home in Walden, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Walden, NY, or to the Mayo Clinic’s Liver Transplant Research Program at give.mayoclinic.org in Nell’s memory. The family wishes to honor Nell’s legacy by encouraging others to register as organ donors, ensuring the gift of life for those in need.
