On September 27, 2024, May Ruth Lennon stepped into glory, into the presence of her beloved Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
She was born on June 28, 1934 to Carl Edwin Leasure and Ruth Adeline English in New Castle, PA. May graduated from Nyack College in 1959 with a B.S. in Christian Education and Oneonta State with a M.S. in Education. May taught for 11 years in the Valley Central School District. After moving to New Hampshire, she then became the Christian Education Director at Gordon-Conwell Seminary in MA. Upon moving back to the NY area in 1980, May became the Word Processing Director of the I.T. Department at Wehvan Engineering in Middletown, NY for many years. May was an accomplished pianist/organist playing for many church services, weddings and special events throughout her life. May was a long time member of Circleville Church for over 20 years she led a vibrant outreach ministry (Serendipity Singles) for the single community in the local area. She is credited for having a profound impact and listening ear in their time of need. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God which she shared with those who surrounded her.
May is survived by her daughter, Lynae J. Blair; son-in-law, Bill Blair of Newburgh; grandsons, Billy Blair of Queens, NY, Austin Blair of Walden and Bryan Blair of Newburgh; brother, Jack of New Castle, PA, Tom of California and sister, Esther Sholey of Washington; many nieces and nephews.
May was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Carter of PA.
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all of mom's caregivers through the years for the loving attentive care they gave to her.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Circleville Church 890 Goshen Turnpike, Circleville, NY 10919.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Circleville Church 890 Goshen Turnpike, Circleville, NY 10919
Visitation will also be 10-11 AM on Friday October 4, 2024 at the Circleville Church with a service to follow at 11 AM.
Burial to follow at the Circleville Cemetery.
